TRANSPORTATION

Wheelchair van
Aging Resources of Douglas County provides door-through-door, relationship-based transportation services for people over age 60 and adults with physical disabilities. Aging Resources staff operates two wheelchair-accessible vehicles and runs a dialysis route three days per week. Our volunteer driver program, called Neighbor Network, has screened and trained volunteers all throughout Douglas County. Members of this program are referred to as our Neighbors. Volunteers use their personal vehicles to drive their Neighbors to medical appointments, local errands and social outings. To receive transportation services, please apply to Become a Member.

Fulfillment of rides are dependent upon the availability of volunteer drivers and staff. To accommodate both volunteers and Neighbors, we ask that Neighbors call to request transportation at least five working days prior to their scheduled ride.
Rides are provided at no cost to Neighbor Network members. We do ask for donations to help offset the costs of vehicle maintenance, insurance, and the scheduling database.
