Aging EducationAccessing important information can become more difficult as we age, especially for the one-third of people over 60 who do not use the internet. Aging Resources of Douglas County participates in and organizes educational events to help older people remain knowledgeable and thrive in their later years.
Rural OutreachMany people don't realize that 82 percent of Douglas County is rural land. For older people who live in the more remote areas of the county, accessing services and information can be a major challenge. Aging Resources of Douglas County offers services and education events in rural areas so that older people can remain independent and in their homes.
Inter-generationalIntergenerational activities have been shown to positively affect memory in older people and develop problem-solving skills in younger people. Aging Resources of Douglas County visits schools, hosts events, and facilitates volunteering activities to encourage communication and connections between older and younger people.
