What you'll be doing
Volunteers provide one-on-one friendly visits, phone calls and outings to a Neighbor in need of a friend
Volunteers are given the contact information of their companion to make arrangements for regular visits
Volunteers are not allowed to assist clients with bodily care or handle medications
Volunteers may not accept any form of payment, tips or gifts in exchange for their volunteer service
Common Activities
Going out to lunch
Having tea
Playing cards
Visiting family and friends
Qualifications
Must be age 21 or older, children of volunteers can accompany
Must have reliable vehicle with current driver’s license and auto insurance
Must have a desire to assist seniors and adults with disabilities!
Time Commitment
Companion volunteers should schedule once per week for at least one hour. If the volunteer is busy one week or out of town, a phone call can replace an in-person visit or outing.
